What is internet ?
Internet is a Computer based worldwide Information network.
It is a global communication system which links together millions of individual networks. It allows exchange of information between two or more computer devices. We can say that it helps in transfer of message through Mail, chat , video and audio conference etc.

It stands for Local Area Network. ( within a building. )

From late 1960 to early 1990 internet was mainly used for academic and military purposes. Then World Wide Web was introduced in 1989.
WWW is a set of programs standards and protocols of how multimedia files are created and displayed on internet.
WWW become reality with invention of HTML and a text browser.

- It is different from internet.

Client
What is client ?
Any computer that requests service from other computer.
Server
What is server ?
Any computer that receives request from client computers.
Webpage
What is web page ?
A digital page accessible via Internet giving information about owner of the web page.
Website
What is website
A collection of interconnected web page of an organisation.
Web portal
What is web portal ?
A website that offers various types of resources such as email forums, search engine for example :- www.google.com .
Web browser
What is web browser ?
A program or software on a client computer that gives information from the web some popular web browsers are Internet , explorer , Google, Chrome , Mozilla, Firefox , Opera etc.
URL
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. It is the unique address of web page on internet.
Email stands for Electronic Mail.
With the help of this , message distributed by electronic means from a computer user to one or more recipients via internet.
Email address
Every mail has a unique electronic post office box with a unique address on internet where email can be sent . This unique address is called email address or email id.
