Resistors are most commonly used components in electric circuits.

Resistor
Resistor is a passive component which resists ( opposes ) the flow of electric current.
The purpose of resistor is control the flow of electric current in a electronic circuit.
The property of resistor by which it opposes the flow of electric current is called resistance.
The resistance is measured in Ω ( ohm ) and it is represented by a Greek letter omega ( Ω ).
The resistor with high resistance value will reduce high amount of current whereas the resistors with low resistance value will reduce less amount of electric current.
The circuit symbol of resistor :
| Symbol of Resistor in Electronic Circuit |
A resistor have two terminals for connecting point.
According to ohm's law the value of resistor is :
R = V/I
Where R = resistance,
V = Voltage;
I = Current ;
Each resistor has to main characteristics , that is, its resistance value in ohm and its Power dissipating capacity is watt.
What is circuit signal ?
The graphical representation of electronics and electrical component is called circuit symbol.
